Principal Investigator
Dr. Paul Geeleher joined St. Jude from the Department of Medicine (split between Section of Genetic Medicine and Section of Hematology/Oncology) at the University of Chicago as a postdoctoral scholar and subsequently K99/R00 fellow. He joined the faculty in the Department of Computational Biology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2019.
Dr. Min Pan – Staff Scientist (wet-lab)
Dr. Min Pan has a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Zhejiang University. She subsequently spent 5 years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Richard Chapple – Bioinformatics Research Scientist
Dr. Chapple has a Ph.D. in Human Genetics from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He also attained a Master’s degree in the University of Missouri and has his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois.
Dr. Charlie Wright – Bioinformatics Research Scientist
Dr. Wright has a Ph.D. in Cancer and Developmental Biology from University of Tennessee. He performed most of his graduate work here at St. Jude in the lab of Dr. Taosheng Chen in the Department of Chemical Biology.
Dr. Yinwen Zhang – Bioinformatics Analyst
Dr. Zhang joins us from her Ph.D. at the University of Georgia, where she worked on computational epigenetics and plant science, publishing first author papers in PNAS and Nature Communications.
Erielle Culp – PhD student
Erielle is a PhD student working on prediction models for drug response and dependency, as well as design of reduced representation CRISPR knockout libraries.
Ankita Sanjali – Sr. Researcher
Ankita has a Masters in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Illinois, as well as industry experience at Takeda in Boston. She is working on molecular characterization of dependencies identified from CRISPR knockout screens.
Dr. Xueying Liu – Postdoc
Dr. Liu has an undergraduate from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), and PhD from Purdue, studying computer science and mathematics. She is working on GPU-based unsupervised machine learning models for analysis of massive scale single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data.
Multiple computational postdoc and staff scientist positions available.
Alumni:
Dr. Asif Zubair – Bioinformatics Research Scientist
Dr. Zubair joined us from his Ph.D. University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He worked on methods development for spatial transcriptomics data before being offered a prestigious position in industry. Asif has filed a patent (pending) from his time with us and has had work accepted at the AACR annual meeting. His first author paper from the lab has been published at Nucleic Acids Research: https://academic.oup.com/nar/advance-article/doi/10.1093/nar/gkac320/6583238
